The Great Outdoors!

Well, we packed up the dogs in the car and went  to Prudenville, Michigan.  Lacey Lynn has been up north a bunch of times but this was Lukie Joe's first time up north.  I was worried because he is not the best listener and does not always come when you call him.  He also has a past of running away and being lost for a few hours (not a very fun hunting trip for my dad).  Everything was perfect this weekend.  The dogs were great and didn't get lost!  :)  We also learned that Luke is a swimmer.  Bryan likes to call him our Brittanyfish.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I found this yummy recipe on this fun blog Take a Megabite and had to try it.  Let me tell you....these cookies are AWESOME.
So YUMMY!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup flour
1 cup old fashioned or quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.  Beat butter, sugars, and peanut butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.  Add egg and and vanilla, mix well.  Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until well blended after each addition.  Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.  Cool 1 min.  remove from baking sheets to wire racks.  Cool completely.

2nd year of teaching done!

My second year of teaching is done.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I'm glad that it is over....I need a break but I also am not a fan of the way that it ended.  But, here are some highlights of the year.
  • Working with Mrs. Resk.  She is a great teacher and has a HUGE heart.  We learned a lot about each other and what works and does not work.  In my eyes we were a good team and we grew stronger the second half of the school year.
  • My students.  I had an interesting group let me tell ya.  But, I am happy about the relationships that grew between me and some of the students.  We made some huge growth and when I got that hug on the last day of school from MB and the words "Mrs. Wojciechowski I'm going to miss you." meant a lot.
  • Q-TIP
  • My second grade team!
  • Singing and dancing to Michal Jackson with my second graders.

This was an interesting year and I learned a lot about myself.  I'm looking forward to next year and a fresh outlook on my job.
