Pinterest Creation - Sock Snowmen

I found these sock snowmen on pinterest and fell in love.  They were super easy to make and made excellent hostess gifts.  Below are some of the snowmen I created along with the link where you can find the directions on how to make them.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

I have been in a blogging rut.  I have no idea what to write about.  So, I decided to show you my Christmas tree and some of my favorite ornaments.  My new favorite thing are ornaments....I like when they are from someone special or they have some kind of special meaning behind them.  Keep your eyes on the blog for my 2011 blog post.
Our Christmas Tree 2011

I love snowmen and I love S'mores!  We picked this up at Bronner's last year.

Fire up Broncos!

Elmo has been my favorite since I was little.

My mom gave me this ornament.  My Great Grandma made it.

Our first Christmas ornament.  Our first Christmas was last year (2010).

Grandma Mimi ♥

To Those Whom I Love And Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that I have had so many years
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness
I thank you for the love each have shown
But now it is time I traveled on alone
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It is only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories in your heart
I will not be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All of my love around you soft and clear Then, when you must come this way alone
I will greet you with a smile and welcome you home.

Yummy Summer Dinner at Home!

So we need to start being more smart when it comes to money.  That means no more fast food and restaurants every night.  I decided to do a weekly dinner menu, we started it yesterday with BBQ chicken, red skin potatoes, and corn on the cob.  It was a success!  I even tried a new red skin potato recipe and it turned out great!  You can find the recipe here.  We also made dessert (you can't have a good dinner without a good dessert).  We made S'mores on the grill. They were pretty easy to make, all you have to do is put your S'more together and wrap it in tin foil and then cook it on the grill for about five minutes.  Be careful they are extremely hot.

The Great Outdoors!

Well, we packed up the dogs in the car and went  to Prudenville, Michigan.  Lacey Lynn has been up north a bunch of times but this was Lukie Joe's first time up north.  I was worried because he is not the best listener and does not always come when you call him.  He also has a past of running away and being lost for a few hours (not a very fun hunting trip for my dad).  Everything was perfect this weekend.  The dogs were great and didn't get lost!  :)  We also learned that Luke is a swimmer.  Bryan likes to call him our Brittanyfish.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I found this yummy recipe on this fun blog Take a Megabite and had to try it.  Let me tell you....these cookies are AWESOME.
So YUMMY!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup flour
1 cup old fashioned or quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.  Beat butter, sugars, and peanut butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.  Add egg and and vanilla, mix well.  Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until well blended after each addition.  Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.  Cool 1 min.  remove from baking sheets to wire racks.  Cool completely.
Luke wants you to have a good day!

2nd year of teaching done!

My second year of teaching is done.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I'm glad that it is over....I need a break but I also am not a fan of the way that it ended.  But, here are some highlights of the year.
  • Working with Mrs. Resk.  She is a great teacher and has a HUGE heart.  We learned a lot about each other and what works and does not work.  In my eyes we were a good team and we grew stronger the second half of the school year.
  • My students.  I had an interesting group let me tell ya.  But, I am happy about the relationships that grew between me and some of the students.  We made some huge growth and when I got that hug on the last day of school from MB and the words "Mrs. Wojciechowski I'm going to miss you." meant a lot.
  • Q-TIP
  • My second grade team!
  • Singing and dancing to Michal Jackson with my second graders.

This was an interesting year and I learned a lot about myself.  I'm looking forward to next year and a fresh outlook on my job.
